Fucking emusic. Nice site, happy to be a member, its a fine service. BUT, I am pissed about losing out my 26 downloads I had coming to me. [For those not familiar with emusic, here's the short and the long of it: 40 downloads a month for $9.99, but can only download non-major label works; big downside is that you can't rollover your downloads from month to month, if you don't use all 40 you lose 'em (forshadowing)]
I realized yesterday morning that my monthly deal is almost up, so I go log in and see that I have 26 downloads left and they are due to reset on "January 19th." Well yesterday being January 19th, and me still having downloads I figure I can wait until I get home from work and they'll probably still be there right? Wrong. Dead fucking wrong. Get home, crack open my slowly deteriorating laptop, only to find that my 26 downloads remaining are gone and I have 40 new ones. Shit fuck whore.
There, I feel moderately better now.
Last night I downloaded some good ole overkill river, live from 2004, which is great because you get a few of the newer tracks but all of the best oldies. If you don't know overkill river [popularly known by their actual name: Okkervil River], you should. Great for being drunk to, for solitarily drinking to, for spacing out at work to, for feeling wrotten to, and occassionally working out to. From time to time I'll ride to the more upbeat tunes, and I remember Bobby Digital once saying that his mom listened to 'em while she did aerobics. Or maybe that was my morning jacket. Either way, hip fucking mom.
